Safdie Architects Funds Scholarship

Texas builder and resident Yigal Lelah has built homes in the Dallas area for more than 25 years. Yigal Lelah was given an American Institute of Architects (AIA) Design Award for one of his custom homes.

In 2021, the Architects Foundation, the philanthropic arm of AIA, received a donation from Safdie Architects to fund the Architects Foundation Diversity Advancement Scholarship. This scholarship helps a five-year student scholar attending an architectural program in the fall of 2021. Safdie Architects is hoping that the scholarship will provide access to the architectural profession to a person of color or a member of an indigenous group and improve industry-wide diversity. The Architects Foundation has a similar mission and greatly appreciates the donation that will help support a more diverse architectural profession.
